Waves Series

Hello there, It is a while since I wrote anything on here.

One of my all time favourite places to go is the beach, I can literally sit for hours and watch the beautiful waves. Not only is it a feast for the eyes but I also love the sound of the waves crashing on the seashore. Sadly I don't live that close to the seaside so when we go it is a real treat. I am hoping to go to the beach in a few weeks time. Whenever we go on holiday its not a holiday unless we go to the beach to see the waves.

There is something so calming about waves watching them lap on the seashore, those sounds can even put you to sleep. The interesting thing about waves that despite their calming affects if you don't get out of their way you can find yourself in trouble. They can literally sweep you out to sea, crash you against the rocks or drown you where you lay.

Recently I have decided to pick up again on the waves theme. I discovered that I have painted quite a few of these but I want to explore these ideas even more. Some time ago I painted one that was called sound waves. I realise that these are more like patterns and a much more simplified version of waves but nonetheless they are wave in shapes. As I have been thinkng of waves they are not just found at the seaside but they can be found in lots of other areas of life. This is something I will be exploring in the coming months.

I started another wave painting the other week which I have finished tonight but funnily enough the image has gone in a totally different direction and looks like someting completely different. I will be posting this on my social media in a few days.

As an artist it is an interesting phenomen that you can think you know how something is going to turn out. You can have an idea in your head but it can go in a completely different direction. I could have continued with the direction I was going but I couldn't ignore the shapes that were screaming at me to be outlined.

More wave paintings coming soon or at least thats where they will begin but we will have to see where the end up.

Catch you soon

Breaking the silence

Time to break the silence........that is exactly how I see others treating this subject. In fact its pretty much a non subject. I feel so awkward when I talk to people about our baby journey because I get next to no response. I guess others don't know what to say.  They often say that you can't miss what you haven't had. I beg to differ!  When I meet someone new the conversation goes something like this: " Are you married,? 'Yes.' Great they respond, "How long have you been married? '6 years.' I respond. The next question after that is logical to them, "Do you have any children ?" 'No' I respond 'I have a Chihuahua.' Often that's the end of the conversation or the conversation gets very awkward.   On other occasions I have complete strangers coming up to me asking me do I have children and then they say the Lord says I am going to have children. I am a strong believer and I have a strong faith, I love Jesus and I total...

Tell your story

Some weeks ago I was in Germany at a Conference for Evangelists, I have to say I felt quite out of place but it was a great opportunity and we were showered with blessings whilst there. Towards the end of the conference a younger woman to me prayed for me. She spoke about what I do without actually knowing and she talked about my art, I had told her that I was an artist. I don't remember entirely what she said to me but I do remember her saying this "Tell Your Story!.  "Tell your story,  others need to hear your story." Those words have resonated in my heart ever since! I am however tempted to say what story? There's nothing to tell, is there? I feel like that is the way many people look at Childless couples. There is no offspring there was never signs of a baby so what story do you have? There was no beginning, there was no loss, there was nothing. There has always been nothing and you would be forgiven to think that there will always be nothing, No story.  I ...

Come paint with me - how it all began

How did it all begin?  Last Monday evening marked the premier of an initiative I have been calling "Come Paint with me." You may have seen social media posts about this dotted around my channels.  The first in person 'Come Paint with me in person by the Lake was held at a local restaurant called The Wine Press besides the local beauty spot of Hollingsworth lake.  Although Monday was the first in person event. I have been running 'Come Paint with me.' since the pandemic for around 4 years.  One morning I woke up with the words in my head "It's time to nail mental health." I woke up with a start what did that mean? Now for those of you who know me you will know that I am a deeply spiritual person. So now you are going to think that I am into crystals and reiki and all that jazz. Well no I'm a Christian and I believe that as a Christian we can tap Into the spiritual realm. Basically I can hear God and see into the kingdom of God. Now if ...
